kamui

KAMUI is a performance group formed by Tetsuro Shimaguchi in 1998. They create shows that mix the beauty of form, acting, martial arts and music into a beautiful performance.

They have performed all over the world in such venues as The Kennedy Center and Capital One Arena in the US, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Teatro Della Pergola and Palazzo Vecchio in Italy, Japan Expo in Paris and Hyper Japan London, to name a few.

In Japan, they have their own stages and appear in theatrical performances, movies and other events. They also teach and choreograph sword fighting techniques for film and theatre.

Perhaps their most famous contribution was when KAMUI leader, Tetsuro Shimaguchi, choreographed the sword fighting scenes for Quentin Tarantino’s iconic KILL BILL VOL.1, and performed as CRAZY88-MIKI.

KAMUI is available to hire for events, performances and coaching in film and theater (subject to their availability). Please contact us for more information.
